Jaap Smit & Bert van Polen win final 2009
With Teng Timmermans comes victory for Sjaak Muermans, at last...

September 11th 2009, Royal GC de Sart Tilman, Liege (B)

Last Friday those qualified and some representatives of the tournaments sponsors played for the 18th time the final round of the (ISSUE IT) International Executives Cup, this year organized on the challenging holes of the Royal Golf Club de Sart Tilman. Not distance but precision are the ingredients, especially the putting requires everything from a golfer. It was the ISSUE IT team with its CEO Jaap Smit and businesspartner Bert van Polen who succeeded to card an on par score, the latter finishing with two birdies on 17 and 18. It brought them the 2009 International Executives Cup. In the guest tournament it was the team of Teng Timmermans and Sjaak Muermans who equalled the on par score. We've never seen a happier Sjaak who praised one again tourdirector Charly von Freyburg, and reminded all present that this was his first win in 17, international executive cup, tournaments in succession. Bravo to all. In his return speech Charly von Freyburg thanked all sponsors and participants with a special word of thank you to Etihad Airways for sponsoring a business class air trip to and from Abu Dabi. Rest to mention that the hosting venue again served a fine meal with gourmet allure. On the menu were Coquilles Saint Jacques with a lovely orange and chicory sauce followed by a generous steak and a creamy dessert. With some confidence we have good hopes for a renewed get-together in 2010 to play for the 19th Cup....

YES! 1500 euro for children cancerpatients
On September 8th 2009 Holland's playing professional Joost Luiten played a full round with Sjaak Muermans and Teng Timmermans at G.C. De Rottebergen. The round was part of a private masterclass won by Sjaak after placing the highest bid in a charity auction of a YES! putter donated by Aad van Os, owner of Approach Golf. Aad acted as a spontaneous auction master during the prize-giving dinner of the Spa round. Most effectively he drove the price up to a generous euro 1500. Receipt of the amount meanwhile has been happily confirmed by KIKA, the Dutch Children's Cancer Fund.

July 1st 2009

Playing Cromstrijen is a feast for longhitters and those that love to but are fearsome to miss narrow fairways. Not here as there is ample room on the hole itself or alternatively on adjacent fairways.
